Sex Pistols With Frank Carter to Bring Anarchy on North American Tour

Three original members and Gallows singer will perform Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols in its entirety on 50th anniversary trek

The reunited Sex Pistols — featuring three original members of the punk legends alongside Gallows singer Frank Carter — will bring their anarchy across the Atlantic this fall with a North American tour.

The band’s 50th anniversary tour will see the lineup of guitarist Steve Jones, bassist Glen Matlock, drummer Paul Cook and singer Carter performing the 1977 punk classic Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols in its entirety, plus other tracks from the group’s too-brief catalog.

The North American leg kicks off Sept. 16 at Dallas’ Longhorn Ballroom — where the band’s 1978 performance was documented for the just-released live album Live in the U.S.A — and runs through Oct. 16 at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium; thirteen dates are currently scheduled, but the Sex Pistols promised “more tour dates will be announced.” Check the tour’s site for on-sale information.

Earlier this year, John Lydon slagged the Sex Pistols’ “Johnny Rotten”-less tour plans in an interview, calling it a “karaoke presentation.”

“The poor sausage!” Lydon said of Carter replacing him. “Does he know what he’s walked into? Good on him, what a great fucking opportunity, but there’s something darker going on behind it. It’s almost malicious in its intent. And its karaoke – that’s all it will ever be. Bloody hell, the Three Stooges in that band have had how many years to write some new songs? That’s what I’d like to hear.”
