The Cure Prep ‘Songs of a Lost World’ Remix Album With Four Tet, More

The Cure have enlisted Four Tet, Paul Oakenfold, Orbital, and many more for a new remix album based on their celebrated 2024 record, Songs of a Lost World

The aptly-titled Mixes of a Lost World is set to arrive June 13, and to preview the record, the Cure are sharing Four Tet’s new version of “Alone” and Oakenfold’s “Cinematic” remix of “I Can Never Say Goodbye.” Additional contributors include Daybreakers, Mura Masa, and Sally C, while a deluxe edition of Mixes will feature additional contributions from Chino Moreno of the Deftones, Mogwai, 65daysofstatic, and the Twilight Sad.

The Cure’s Robert Smith spearheaded Mixes of a Lost World, saying in a statement that the project began just after Christmas when he received “a couple of unsolicited remixes” and “really loved them.”

He continued: “The Cure has a colorful history with all kinds of dance music, and I was curious as to how the whole album would sound entirely reinterpreted by others. This curiosity resulted in a fabulous trip through all eight songs by 24 wonderful artists and remixers and is way beyond anything I could have hoped for.”

Mixes of a Lost World will be released as a three-CD or vinyl LP deluxe edition, while a standard two-CD or vinyl LP edition will also be available. (A full track list for the deluxe edition is below.) The album is available to pre-order now, and the Cure will donate all of their recording royalties from the project to War Child UK — a cause that, Smith said, made Mixes “an even more special release.”

Released last November, Songs of a Lost World marked the Cure’s first full-length album in more than a decade, following 2008’s 4:13 Dream
