Benson Boone Drops ‘Mystical Magical’ After Coachella Debut: WATCH

New track is the second song off of American Heart album, due June 20

Benson Boone is singing about his ethereal love. On Thursday, the pop star released his single “Mystical Magical,” after debuting the song during his standout Coachella set earlier this month.

“You can feel like/Moonbeam ice cream, taking off your blue jeans/Dancing at the movies/’Cause it feels so/Mystical, magical,” sings Boone in the pre-chorus. He accompanied the single with a Matt Eastin-directed lyric video that splices clips of Boone surrounded by balloons, the star doing cartwheels in an empty living room, and other clips of the singer dancing around a dark movie theater with a bag of popcorn in his hand.

After fans questioned what “Moonbeam ice cream” was, Boone shared a photo of himself holding a pint of ice cream called “Benny’s” flavored after the lyric. “I guess we all find out what Moonbeam Ice Cream is at 3PM tomorrow,” he wrote on Instagram Wednesday.

“Mystical Magical” is the second single off of the singer’s American Heart album, due June 20. Last month, Boone led the album with “Sorry I’m Here for Someone Else,” which hit the Top 40 of the Hot 100. He’s scheduled to make his Saturday Night Live debut on May 3.

During his first weekend performance at Coachella, the singer also debuted “Young American Heart” from the upcoming LP. He was joined by Queen’s Brian May to perform both “Bohemian Rhapsody” and Boone’s breakthrough hit, “Beautiful Things.” He’s set to perform at Napa’s BottleRock and New York’s Governors Ball, among other fests, later this summer.
