Yungblud Releases Rousing Single ‘Lovesick Lullaby’

The track follows his recent 10-minute epic “Hello Heaven, Hello”

Yungblud has unleashed a new single, “Lovesick Lullaby.” The British musician described the making of the song as a “fucking party.” A music video for the raucous track will premiere later today.

“Making this song was a fucking party and you can hear that on the recording,” he said in a statement, via NME. “[I tried to] let my subconscious do a lot of the talking and then make sense of my words the following afternoon in a kitchen, hungover, eating fish and chips with a cup of tea. I’ve been on a journey trying to find meaning in different places all over the world, for which I am forever grateful, but it felt as though my feet left the ground a little too much and I had to bring myself back… to British music, to British art and culture.”

Last month, Yungblud introduced his fourth studio album with a nearly 10-minute epic song, “Hello Heaven, Hello.” He called it “the opening statement” to his new LP. “It’s a journey of self-reclamation, a goodbye to the past and how you may have known or perceived me before, and a hello to the future and where I’m going,” Yungblud noted. “It sets the precedent for what this album is.”

Without revealing its name, Yungblud described his upcoming album as “magical” and where things “start” for him. “Where the fuck are we gonna end up?” he asked. “Let’s see. Get on the horse. Let’s ride.”

Yungblud’s third album, Yungblud, arrived in 2022. Rollng Stone called the 12-track LP a “whirlwind listen, fusing together building blocks of various rock subgenres — mostly Britpop’s hip-shaking carnality and emo’s on-the-brink wails — then spit-shining them a bit before adding confessional lyrics.”
