Anything is possible for the remaining contestants on American Idol. Season 23 is down to the Top 5 after two people went home on Sunday night (May 11).

Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan have maintained the supportive approach that has defined this show since its move to ABC several years ago. Still, Bryan and Richie have proven they’ll be honest when a contestant just doesn’t have it.
Who Went Home on American Idol?
Sunday night’s episode of American Idol found all three judges heaping praise on the remaining contestants. This obfuscated who might leave at the end of the episode, but one of the singers who went home should have been no surprise.
Maddie Pruitt required a judge’s save last week but they had none to give this week. Her performance of “Those Kind of Women” by Lauren Alaina and “Remember Me” from the movie Coco were good, but not Top 5 good.
