The list of country artists who have died so far in 2025 includes a member of one of country music’s most beloved families, as well as a folk icon, a hugely influential rock and country legend, the head of a Grammy-winning group and more.
One very prominent hitmaker had scored a huge No. 1 hit before gradually fading from the public view in the last years of her life, and one country singer lost the father who helped lead her into music in the first place.
Another country artist we’ve lost in 2025 was a real pioneer as one of the first Latino country stars to score real success, while one of country music’s most beloved stars of all time lost their spouse of nearly 60 years.
