Yusuf/Cat Stevens Announces ‘Cat on the Road to Findout’ Book Tour

Yusuf/Cat Stevens is bringing his long-awaited memoir, Cat on the Road to Findout, on tour. The musician will discuss the project and perform stripped-down songs at intimate live events on the Cat On The Road To Findout—An Evening Of Tales, Tunes, And Other Mysteries book tour. “Having passed through the exhaustingly complex maze of everyday material life, ascending the dizzying heights of wealth, recognition, and artistic achievements, I think I’ve got a few things to share,” Stevens shared in a statement.

The North American portion of the book tour will begin on Oct. 10 in Philadelphia. Stevens will make additional stops in Boston, Toronto, New York, Chicago, and San Francisco. The tour will conclude on Oct. 21 in Los Angeles. The singer-songwriter will also make seven stops in the U.K. in September. Both tour legs are tied to the book release dates, Oct. 7 in North America and Sept. 18 in the U.K. Presale for the tour will begin on Wednesday, May 21, at 10 a.m. local time, ahead of the general sale beginning Friday, May 23, at 10 a.m. local time.

“Keeping an open mind was part of the nature I instinctively maintained as a creative songwriter,” Stevens said. “Nothing was off-bounds. Music was a way of discovering my purpose within the universe. I just kept on exploring, reading, and learning more, ignoring myths and warnings and crossing dangerous-looking bridges into the vast ranges of philosophies and through the veils of the spiritual unknown.”

He added: “Now I have written a book which explains what I’ve learned and the stories along the way. That doesn’t make me a teacher, but more of a potential specimen for those who are searching and pursuing happiness on all sides of the divide. Believe me, folks, it’s out there!”
