Karol G Announces New Album ‘Tropicoqueta’

The news comes on heels of Colombian star’s summer single “Latina Foreva”

Karol G is officially entering a new era. The Latin star has announced her fifth album, Tropicoqueta.

Karol revealed the news in an Instagram video. “I can finally let you know this,” the singer wrote in the caption. “My heart is leaking,” she continued. While Karol didn’t share a lot of details, like the album’s release date, she did hint that Tropicoqueta will arrive “very soon.”

In the Instagram video, Karol walks into view wearing a sparkly, orange outfit reminiscent of Carnival get-ups with mini conga drums attached to her waist before flashing a smile and dancing along to a snippet of what many fans think is a new song. “Where are the people of this party?” Karol sings on the track as a rush of trumpets and drums set a festive vibe. The short snippet is a departure from the reggaeton-forward “Latina Foreva,” which Karol released as her first official single of 2025.

“Latina Foreva” came with a video that shows Karol hanging out in the snow in a bikini. “The song is about all the aspects of being Latina,” Karol told Rolling Stone. “Our curves, the way we’re the life of the party, and how everyone in the world wants to be with a Latina. I feel like the energy we carry has just been contagious.”

Earlier this year, the Colombian singer released her Netflix documentary Tomorrow Was Beautiful which chronicled her record-breaking 2023 LP Mañana Será Bonito and its accompanying tour. Tropicoqueta marks Karol’s first album since Mañana Será Bonito(Bichota Season), the album’s deluxe edition.
