Carter Faith is a bright light for the future of country — and she has her debut album out soon to prove it. On Friday, as she released her single “Sex, Drugs, & Country Music,” Faith announced that she’ll drop her LP, Cherry Valley, on Oct. 3.
“Cherry Valley means everything to me,” said Carter in a press statement. “Every time I have slipped into a dark place (which I have a propensity for), this album has brought me out of it. I know that I wrote the songs, but they still carry reminders for me every day when I relisten. Some of the songs have even transformed for me and mean something different now.”
The album artwork shows Faith in a white lace dress with long, flowy sleeves (à la Abba) posing in front of a red theater curtain, with the album title written in an old-school, title-sequence font.
“The world of Cherry Valley has been a safe and freeing place for me and everyone who has worked so hard on this record. I have truly created this album with my best friends, which feels surreal,” Faith added. “It feels like it belongs to all of us, because it does.”
Faith’s pair of singles, “Grudge” and “If I Had Never Lost My Mind,” will also be featured on the upcoming LP, which includes a total of 15 tracks. (See the full track list below.) According to a press release, Cherry Valley captures Faith’s country music journey, moving from North Carolina to Nashville and finding heartbreak and triumph along the way. She worked with her producer Tofer Brown to put together the project.
“I’ve loved living in this little world I made for myself, and I can’t wait to finally invite you in,” Faith wrote to fans on Instagram. “It’s for everybody. The space between reality and fantasy, love and heartbreak, light and dark. It’s whatever you need it to be.”
While this marks her first full-length project, it follows a trio of EPs from the rising star. She dropped The Aftermath last October, Man in 2023, and the six-song Let Love Be Love in 2021. Faith is set to join Little Big Town as an opener for their tour later this summer.
