This fall, Yusuf/Cat Stevens will release his long-awaited memoir, Cat on the Road to Findout, paired with a North American book tour. Now, he’s announced an accompanying greatest hits compilation, out Sept. 5.
On the Road to Findout: Greatest Hits marks the singer-songwriter’s first career-spanning compilation, containing tracks across the last six decades. It contains material from his 1967 debut, Matthew & Son (including “I Love My Dog”), and extends all the way to 2023’s King of a Land.
“I’m pleased that, at last, a collection of recordings includes some important songs I wrote after my evolvement, ‘Take The World Apart’ and ‘Heaven/Where True Love Goes’ for instance, reflecting the peace and happiness which has since changed my life,” he said in a statement. “Thank you, one and all. It’s really humbling to think about how many souls have been traversing this journey with me.”
The compilation will arrive in a variety of formats and lengths. A single CD and 2-LP set will be available, as well as expanded editions spanning 2 CDs and 4 LPs.
Yusuf will release his memoir in the U.K. on Sept. 18 and in North America on Oct. 7. He’ll tour the U.K. in September, discussing the project and performing several of his beloved songs. He’ll bring the tour to North America on Oct. 2, his first time performing in the U.S. since 2016.
