The Cactus Jack compilation album is set to release July 13
With just days to go before its release, Travis Scott announced that his Cactus Jack compilation album Jackboys 2 will roll out this Sunday, July 13.
According to post shared to his Instagram on Thursday night, the project will span 17 tracks and be hosted by Bun B. “The Jack is back with 17 tracks full of trunk rattling classics in the making,” read the text on the poster. Alongside the image, the rapper wrote in the caption: “JB2 OUT EVERY WHERE 7 13
SPEAKERS AND SCREAMS AT MAX VOLUME.”
The announcement arrives a few months after Scott teased the sequel to 2019’s compilation LP Jackboys, the first album from his label Cactus Jack Records, with a video by with White Trash Tyler and filmmaker Harmony Korine featuring an unreleased song.
Earlier in the week, Scott shared the track “2000 Excursion” featuring Don Toliver and Sheck Wes. The rapper has also been promoting his project by reportedly sending Lamborghinis branded with the Jackboys logo (echoing his previous teaser trailer, which featured a purple Lamborghini) to his fellow artists including Waka Flocka Flame, 21 Savage, GloRilla, Tyla, Vybz Kartel, and Kodak Black — hinting at possible features on the upcoming sequel.
Last year, Scott was presented with the annual I Am Hip Hop Award at the BET Hip Hop Awards, an honor given to artists who have made significant cultural and creative impacts on the genre. He also headlined this year’s Coachella festival in April, turning the event into an all-night rager.
