No, Britney Spears Did Not Adopt a Child

The singer joked with wink emojis about having a daughter named Lennon London — but Rolling Stone confirms she didn’t actually add a “beautiful baby girl” to her family

Britney Spears sent her fans into a frenzy when she wrote that she had adopted a “beautiful baby girl” on Instagram. However, Rolling Stone can confirm that she didn’t actually add a new baby to the family and was simply joking around on her Instagram.

Captioning a video of herself dancing, Spears wrote, “I want to let you guys know I adopted a beautiful baby girl 😉😉😉 !!! Her name is Lennon London Spears 🤪🤪🤪 !!!” (The emoji choices from the pop queen may have been a good indicator that she wasn’t serious.)

Later in her post, Spears said the imaginary child was wearing an “adorable dress,” before adding a trio of “🤪” emojis.

Spears is a mother of two, and shares her sons — 20-year-old Sean and 18-year-old Jayden — with her ex-husband Kevin Federline. While the addition of a new child to the family isn’t true, Spears has been spending more time with her kids after initially losing custody and being estranged for several years as she battled her conservatorship.

Last month, Spears shared a photo of herself with Jayden after going to church together. She also shared a video of Jayden driving her around. “He is 6’3 and his hands are so big now !!! How long am I going to be in shock ???” she wrote in the caption of the now-deleted post. “It’s so incredibly crazy, it’s not even funny !!! I’m blessed!!!”

People also reported in November 2024 that she was spending more time with her younger son and that “spending time together has made her happy.”
