The Musicians Who Attended Ozzy Osbourne’s Funeral

Black Sabbath, members of Metallica and a handful of other rockers paid their respects to the legendary Ozzy Osbourne at his funeral yesterday (July 30).

Fans all over the world were able to watch as the funeral procession made its way through Birmingham yesterday, both in person and via livestream. The vehicles transporting Ozzy’s family members stopped at the iconic Black Sabbath Bench so they could visit and lay flowers on the memorial.

Which Musicians Attended Ozzy’s Funeral?

The actual funeral service was private to Ozzy’s family and loved ones. Among those in attendance were the Prince of Darkness’ Black Sabbath bandmates — Tony Iommi, Bill Ward and Geezer Butler — as well as Ozzy’s longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde, James Hetfield of Metallica, Slipknot‘s Corey Taylor, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Elton John and Yungblud [via The Sun].

Metallica’s Robert Trujillo, who played bass for Ozzy in the ’90s, wrote in a social media post the day prior that he would be at the funeral as well, so we’ll update this post as more reports of attendees come out. Slipknot’s Sid Wilson, who’s now engaged to Kelly Osbourne, was seen in the livestream for the procession as well.

“Ozzy’s service was a beautiful tribute. As well as tears, there was laughter,” a family friend told The Sun.

There were about 110 people in attendance.

“Today we laid to rest a beloved friend. I am eternally grateful that you let me into your life Ozzy. Your inspiration and love will always be with me. Thank you Sharon and family for a reverent, beautiful ceremony. Your legacy lives on,” Manson wrote in a post on X after the ceremony.

Where Was the Funeral Service?

The service took place at Ozzy and Sharon‘s home in Buckinghamshire, England. Tents were set up around their property, as well as a stage for guests to pay tribute.

“Everyone at the service just wanted to support Sharon and the kids, it has been an awful time,” another friend of the family told The Sun. “Toasts were raised, memories were shared — it was a very fitting goodbye.”

Where Was Ozzy Buried?

Ozzy was buried next to a lake on their Buckinghamshire property, which was decorated with a wreath that reads “Ozzy Fucking Osbourne” and a floral arrangement that spells “Ozzy.”

“Ozzy wanted his final place of rest to be at home and he is buried at a beautiful point on the lake,” the friend added.
