Brandon Blackstock was married twice previously, to Melissa Ashworth until 2012 and then to singer Kelly Clarkson. Neither woman is mentioned in the obituary, but another woman is:
Brandon, along with his beautiful and loving partner in life and business, Brittney Marie Jones, started building a life, building companies, and working tirelessly to create Headwaters Livestock Auction and what will live on as his legacy, The Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana.
He had four children (two with each wife), and this obituary makes clear he prioritized them first. Among those listed as survivors: His kids, siblings, parents, step-parents (including Reba McEntire) and grandchildren.
“In addition, he had cherished aunts and uncles, beloved nieces and nephews, a slew of cousins and countless friends. All of whom are terrified to walk in front of a vehicle for fear of the horn honking,” the obituary for Blackstock continues before getting to details about his funeral.
While it’s not stated definitively, the text indicates Blackstock left the music business to establish his homestead in Montana. Two descriptive paragraphs share how he lived a cowboy lifestyle until his passing.
“He charged into life with both guns blazing,” the author notes.
“He had no schedule for when it was time for a cold Coors Light, and his Wrangler jeans were no stranger to a Copenhagen can ring. He rode bulls, but he did not take any.”
Who Is Brittney Marie Jones?
