Luke Bryan Lashes Out at ‘Idiot’ Fans Who Throw Things at Artists

Luke Bryan has something to say to concertgoers who insist on throwing things at artists while they’re performing, and it’s a shot fired by the “Strip It Down” singer for sure.

Bryan was a guest on The Bobby Bones Show, and he dove further into an incident that occurred recently in North Dakota, when someone in the crowd threw a ball at him and hit him in the face.

“People throw things at artists and they’re idiots,” the superstar says. “It’s the deterioration of the moral fabric” [of society].

“This is not a new thing,” Bryan continues. “I mean, listen — that was a great thing to get thrown at me, it was a little beach ball. I mean, I’ve had $1,100 cell phones thrown at me. They put it on video [mode] and then chuck it up at me.”

Bryan says that’s the epitome of privilege, when someone decides that they want to throw something that costs over a thousand dollars at him, without a guarantee of getting it back.

“We see it. Every other entertainer out there is getting stuff — you get stuff thrown at ya,” Bryan told Taste of Country Nights right after the July 26 incident.

It’s safe to say he is pretty fed up with getting hit by foreign objects while performing.

So, if you’re going to one of the remaining shows on his A Country Song Came On Tour — he’s got about a month left on this trek — don’t put yourself into the “idiot” category by launching something at Bryan. He sees you, and he doesn’t appreciate it.

Is Luke Bryan Returning to ‘American Idol’ for Season 24?

Taste of Country Nights asked Bryan about this directly, and he said that he is still negotiating and thinking about whether he wants to do another season or not.

Can You Get Arrested for Throwing Something Onstage?

According to Forbes, yes. Not only that, but the performer can pursue civil lawsuits for damages, including emotional or physical harm.
