Lauren Alaina Shares ‘Scary’ Birth Story of Baby Girl [WATCH]

Lauren Alaina is opening up about the frightening birth of her daughter, Beni Doll Arnold — a moment she calls one of the most emotional experiences of her life.

The 30-year-old country star says Beni’s arrival was anything but routine.

A Dangerous Delivery

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Alaina revealed that Beni was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck and legs, creating a dangerous scenario in which pushing could have dropped her heart rate to critical levels.

“Every time I pushed, her heart rate plummeted,” the “Getting Good” singer shared. “It kind of became like an emergency scenario where we had to get her out. It was a very scary time.”

The new mom still gets emotional remembering the first sound she heard from her daughter.

“When they handed her to me — oh man, it makes me wanna cry thinking about it. When she made that first [imitates crying noise]… wow,” she told the outlet.

Alaina continued, “I looked over at my husband and he was hysterically sobbing, and he’s not a crier.”

A Special Connection to Her Late Father

Beni’s birth came less than a year after the death of Alaina’s father, with whom she shared a deep bond.

She found out she was pregnant just weeks after his passing.

“I was very, very close with my dad, a very important person in my life,” she said. “So many people have said to me that they think my dad sent the baby, and I do believe that, because I needed her there.”
