This year, when Spirit Halloween stores take over abandoned buildings in shopping centers for the Halloween season, the experience is going to be different.
Chain Store Age is reporting that all Spirit Halloween locations are going fully immersive this year, bringing out animatronics.
When you enter, you are entering Spirit Halloween, but you are immediately swept into “Madison Scare Park,” a haunted subway platform brought to life through “interactive design and eerie details.”
You’re hunting for a costume, but they’ll be one step ahead of you, ready to scare you before you are equipped to scare them back.
And if you’re one of those people who says “nobody can scare me,” you are challenged to walk into a Spirit Halloween store this year and be face to face with “Twisted Grandma” or “Trick or Treat Pete.”
Spirit Halloween has one more trick up their sleeve: When you walk into the store you will be tracked by advanced motion tracking with the all-new “Jack the Reaper” animatronic.

We know it feels early, but the Halloween season will be upon us before you know it, with Spirit Halloween stores slated to open starting now.
