Nicole Kidman shared a peek into her family’s summer highlights on social media this week.
Among those were birthday celebrations for Sunday Rose, the oldest of two daughters she and Keith Urban share.
Sunday Rose turned 17 years old in early July, and the family celebrated her with a delicate and sophisticated custom cake.
Pink sparklers and candles reading “17” decorated the birthday cake, which was also embellished with small pink hearts and lettering reading “Happy Birthday Sunday.”
White icing, a crumb border and several pink French macarons completed the presentation, mirroring Sunday’s feminine side, international flair and sophisticated tastes.

The birthday cake was one of several photos Kidman posted as part of an end-of-summer social media roundup.
She also shared some snapshots of family gatherings, including one of her and Sunday embracing, and another where she shares a hug with her her younger daughter, 14-year-old Faith Margaret.
More family members and friends are featured in other photos. In one video clip, Kidman dives off a boat and swims through crystalline blue water, surfacing with a cliff in the background.
In another photo, Kidman enjoys an Olivia Rodrigo concert.
“Summer memories,” the proud mom writes in the caption of her post. “Now back to school.”
When Did Keith Urban + Nicole Kidman Start Sharing Photos of Their Daughters?
Urban and Kidman themselves have been famous for decades, but they spent years making sure their two young daughters were never in the public eye.
Photos of Faith and Sunday as children were few and far between, and they never appeared at industry events with their parents.
In 2017, speaking to Vogue, Kidman explained that that was an intentional choice.
“I’m protective of their identities and don’t want them exposed early on,” she said at the time.
But she added that when the cameras weren’t rolling, the family was always together. “In our private life, they’re always involved with us,” she continued.

Two years later, in an interview with Vanity Fair, Kidman said that she and Urban had strict rules for their daughters’ social media usage, too.
“They don’t have a phone and I don’t allow them to have an Instagram. I try to keep some sort of boundaries,” she said at the time, when the girls were eight and 10 years old.
Sunday Rose’s Budding Modeling Career
Urban and Kidman told Sunday she had to wait to pursue her interest in fashion work until she turned 16.
But ever since her birthday last year, Sunday has begun to explore modeling work, including both runway and magazine opportunities.

As Sunday Rose ventures out into the spotlight in her professional career, Urban and Kidman have relaxed their rules about sharing photos of their daughters.
Faith recently made a cameo in her mom’s new ad campaign for Japanese beauty brand Clé de Peau Beauté.
Kidman told People that it was the brand’s idea to involve Faith.
“My daughter [Sunday] is modeling now, and so when they said, ‘Would Faith be in this with you?’ I was like, ‘Faithy, do you want to be in this?’ And she was like, ‘Yes,'” Kidman explains.
“So we flew out together and we were just able to have fun on the set,” she continues.
