Carrie Underwood’s Love of Rock ‘n’ Roll

If you follow the country hitmaker on social media, you know that Underwood’s first love is rock ‘n’ roll music. While she has found a home in the country genre, she lets her inner rocker come out often.

Not only has she covered greats like Ozzy Osbourne over the years, she has also performed with Aerosmith and Axl Rose from Guns N’ Roses, among others.

Born in 1983, Underwood is on the upper end of the millennial generation. She would have just become a teenager when Linkin Park first formed in 1996. Becoming a fan in high school also means she has seen all eras of the band.

While Linkin Park has remained true to its rap-metal roots, the group itself has undergone a big shift since the death of lead singer Chester Bennington in 2017.

In Sept. 2024 it was announced Emily Armstrong would be joining as a co-vocalist, filling the void and giving Linkin Park new life.

Underwood made it clear she is already a fan of Armstrong.

“@emilyarmstrong’s voice is siiiiiiick!” she writes on another Story with a clapping hands emoji.

It’s high praise from a powerhouse vocalist herself.
