Miranda Lambert will be inducted into the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame in February 2026.
In a social media post about the honor, the superstar credits her father, Richard Lee Lambert, as her first co-writer and the one who led her to this moment.
“It is a huge honor to learn that I will be inducted into the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame next year,” she writes in a post that also includes a photo of her as a toddler, intently watching her dad strum a guitar.
“My dad was my first co-writer. He taught me how to play guitar and is a huge part of the reason for my love of country music,” she continues. “I’m grateful for what music and songwriting has done in my life.”
Lambert admits she’s humbled by the fact that she will be inducted alongside some of her heroes. Other Texas songwriters to be inducted this year: George Strait, Keith Gattis and Don Cook.
Strait is being inducted not for the dozens of hits he’s charted over the years, but specifically the ones he wrote himself, including “Here for a Good Time,” “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar” and “I Believe.”
Gattis, who died on April 23, 2023, wrote some of country music’s biggest songs, Like Strait’s “I Got A Car,” from his 2013 album, Love Is Everything. He’s also credited with penning Kenny Chesney‘s 2013 hit, “El Cerritos Place” and at least 20 other big hits.
Don Cook wrote a few of Brooks & Dunn‘s more popular songs, like “Brand New Man,” “My Next Broken Heart” and “Only in America,” among many others.
The 2026 Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on February 21, 2026.

Miranda Lambert has been a busy woman since her debut studio album Kerosene arrived in 2005. In addition to several more albums and tours, the country singer scratched her entrepreneurial itch by starting a line of clothing and opening a bar.
