Noah Cyrus knows what it’s like to have the world watching her family — and she’s opening up about how she’s learned to live with it.
The Grammy-nominated singer says she’s stopped letting outside noise shape her story. Instead, she’s focusing on the part of life that has always held the Cyrus family together: music.
“I keep myself pretty removed from any interest or ‘drama’ with the family,” Noah told People. “The thing that’s united us with the whole world is music, and that’s the most vital for us.”
The attention, she admits, can be draining. “Yeah, it emotionally is draining, but it doesn’t hurt us or touch us. It’s something that you really learn to keep separate and far away from yourself.”
‘Everyone’s Wonderful and They All Love One Another’
When Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus divorced in 2022, rumors of family rifts flooded social media.
But Noah says that today, things are in a much better place for her and her siblings — Brandi, Trace, Miley and Braison.
“Everyone’s wonderful and they all love one another,” she said. “At the end of the day, this is a family, and you know that’s all it is: just dealing with normal family business.”
Her new album, I Want My Loved Ones to Go With Me, released in July, carries that theme of family throughout.
The record stretches back four generations, featuring “Apple Tree,” built from a hymn written by her great-grandfather, and “With You,” the very first song her dad, Billy Ray, ever wrote.
Siblings, Songs + Growing Pains
Like most families, Noah’s relationship with her siblings hasn’t always been smooth — but those experiences helped shape her new music.
Her brother Braison co-wrote the track “Don’t Put It All on Me,” which includes the lyric: “The words that were spoken / mean nothing to me.”
“I think that really sums up a relationship with a sibling,” Noah said. “You quarrel and you say things — but that’s your family, and they are always going to be there for you.”
In May, Miley shut down rumors of tension with her mom, writing on Instagram: “My mama and I are too tight for anything to ever come between us. She’s my best friend.”

She also reflected on her complicated relationship with her dad, Billy Ray, saying they’re on a path toward healing.
“Now that I’m in my thirties, my family is my life before everything else,” she added. “I feel content in knowing bridges have been mended and that a lot of healing has happened over time.”
Music, Love + Moving Forward
For Noah, family and music are inseparable.
“Really, it was nice to have that bloodline [going] through the record,” she said of weaving her family’s legacy into her songs.
Despite divorces, rumors and feuds, Noah believes love is still at the core of the Cyrus family — and for her, that’s what matters most.
