Carly Pearce Reveals New Details About Her Divorce

Carly Pearce has been open about her heartbreak and healing following her 2020 divorce from Michael Ray.

She’s spoken about the breakup in interviews and walked fans through it step by step in her 29: Written in Stone album.

But Pearce has never said specifically what ended her marriage.

In a new episode of Bunnie Xo‘s Dumb Blonde podcast, Pearce doesn’t exactly say the words, but she all but confirmed that Ray cheated on her.

Bunnie flat-out asked if infidelity was a factor, and even alluded — without mentioning the other woman by name — to rumors surrounding Ray and Tyler Reese Tritt, a singer-songwriter and the daughter of Travis Tritt.

What Happened Between Michael Ray, Carly Pearce and Tyler Reese Tritt?

Ray dated Tritt after he and Pearce got divorced, but fans have always had questions about the timeline.

Earlier this year, the two women made headlines when Pearce performed Dolly Parton‘s “Jolene” during a Grand Ole Opry NBC special. Some fans started commenting that the performance might have been personal after the cameras panned to Tritt, who was sitting in the audience.

Pearce herself responded on social media, saying, “Aw don’t you worry, I looked right at her.”

During their interview, Bunnie asked Pearce point-blank, “Is she Jolene?”

The singer’s response? Well … she definitely didn’t say no.

“Let’s just say I’m not a fan of her. I’m not a fan of him. I could’ve done so much more than I did,” Pearce says.

“It’s tough to think that … just leave me instead,” she reflects, seemingly directed towards Ray’s decision to start a new relationship before their marriage ended.

“When you’re faced with somebody that was a really dark season for you and they go and blow it up on the internet …” Pearce continues, before adding, on the other hand, “I don’t know if he told her we were divorced.”

She also expressed frustration about never quite getting the truth directly from her ex himself.

“You want somebody at the end of it who is gonna look you in the eye and say, ‘Yeah, I did this,’ and blah blah blah. I had to piece together a lot of things after the fact,” she says. “But they were facts.”

Michael Ray + Carly Pearce’s Whirlwind Marriage and Divorce

Ray and Pearce met in 2018 and quickly became one of country music’s hottest couples.

They married in 2019 and announced their split just eight months later, in the summer of 2020.

Both have spoken about their marriage and breakup in interviews. Ray has said that both members of the couple “dropped the ball in a lot of ways,” and he also said that by their wedding day, he knew things were over.

“I didn’t show up after our wedding day, because by that point in time, there was a lot of stuff that she didn’t show up for,” he said. “And it was just kind of like — there was stuff that happened that day where I was like, ‘I’m done. I’m out.'”
