Lainey Wilson’s Fiancé Stopped Her From Making Financial Mistake!

They aren’t quite married yet, but Lainey Wilson‘s soon-to-be husband Devlin “Duck” Hodges stopped her from making a huge financial mistake.

The “Somewhere Over Laredo” singer sat in the hot seat on Taste of Country Nights, where Evan Paul asked her to share the biggest financial splurge she’s made since reaching the big time.

“Me and Duck were actually at a place called Moby Dickys, which is our favorite restaurant ever, it’s on the water and it’s actually where we had our first date,” she explains.

Here’s where she started feeling spendy:

“I saw somebody drive up on a jet ski, and I was like, ‘We gon’ get a jet ski, today, we gettin’ a jet ski,'” she recalls.

But, “by the time I finished the beer, he [Duck] had already talked me out of it.”

“I was ready to do something crazy, I was ready to get a turquoise jet ski,” Wilson admits.

Duck’s reason was valid.

“He was like ‘You’re not gonna be here to ride it.’ Anyway, long story short, I thought about it but it didn’t happen.”

Wilson makes it clear that the finances weren’t the issue — she’s got the funds — it’s just the practicality of owning a jet ski when she doesn’t live on the water and is always busy touring or making music. Oh, and she’s still planning a wedding.

Moby Dickys is in Hendersonville and sits on a branch of the Cumberland River.
