Miranda Lambert‘s husband Brendan McLoughlin put on a serious face while the couple were watching Morgan Wallen‘s performance during a recent I’m the Problem Tour stop.
After Lambert finished up her opening set, she and McLoughlin hopped into the audience to watch the headlining act.
While Lambert was dancing and singing along to the music, one fan caught video of McLoughlin standing next to her — with a very different demeanor.
As everyone else watched the stage, McLoughlin was scanning the crowd. He seemed to clock the person recording video of him, and put on a serious face as he sipped his drink.
While a few people in the comments section speculated that he wasn’t having a good time, others had some other ideas about why McLoughlin wasn’t focusing solely on the music.
The fan who filmed the video thought he might be over the attention from fans.
“Miranda Lambert right in front of us, her husband clearly was over getting his picture taken,” they wrote in the caption.
But others had another explanation.
Remember, McLoughlin used to be an NYPD officer — and old habits die hard.

“He’s just being a cop lol,” one TikTok user wrote in response to the video.
When Lambert and McLoughlin first met in 2019, it was on the set of Good Morning America in New York City. She was there to promote a new album from her band, the Pistol Annies.
He was working security for the TV show.

Though McLoughlin isn’t a working police officer anymore, some fans theorized that he might still have a protective streak when he and Lambert are out in crowds together.
“Cop mode making sure there’s not a creeper creeping,” another fan responded to the post.
“It’s called situational awareness. He understands the assignment,” a third said.
The fan who posted the video acknowledged that McLoughlin might have an extra reason to be protective during the I’m the Problem Tour: “Some a–holes did sneak pictures of her butt showing and spread it around TikTok,” they noted.
Miranda Lambert’s “Cheeky” Wardrobe Malfunction
That viral video dates back to July, when a fan caught video of Lambert performing at one of Wallen’s shows.
The combination of her short skirt plus an unfortunate camera angle made for a pretty, ahem, revealing shot.

The singer laughed off the mishap.
“I’ve been warning y’all about my backyard swagger since 2014,” she wrote in a social media post, a reference to her 2015 hit single “Little Red Wagon.”

Miranda Lambert and Brendan McLoughlin have become one of country music’s favorite couples since they got married in 2020.
Lambert gave fans a big surprise when she announced they’d tied the knot in February of that year. At the time, no one knew that Lambert was dating anyone — much less that she’d gotten married.
They often share photos of their travels together during her time away from touring, and fans appreciate all the shirtless photos of McLoughlin she shares, too.

The fan who shared video of McLoughlin’s serious face during Wallen’s set said in a comment that, just moments before this clip, the couple were laughing and joking around together.
So even though he may have been in “cop mode,” it seems like McLoughlin had fun at Wallen’s show, too.
