Miguel Announces New Album ‘Caos,’ Shares Release Date

The musician’s long-awaited fifth LP arrives in October

Miguel has finally announced his long-awaited fifth album, Caos, with the LP set to arrive Oct. 23 — also the musician’s 40th birthday — via ByStorm Entertainment/RCA Records.

Along with announcing Caos, Miguel soft-released the album’s new single and title-track. The song hasn’t been given a wide release just yet, but Miguel has shared snippets on social media, and it’s available to hear in full on his own S1C.LA website (in exchange for an email address).

“To rebuild, I had to destroy myself. That is the core confrontation of Caos,” Miguel said in a statement. “Through my personal evolution, I learned that transformation is violent. Caos is the sonic iteration of me bending that violence into something universally felt.”

Miguel has yet to release the full track list for Caos, though along with the title-track, the 12-song album will include “Always Time,” which was released last November. It’s unclear whether other loose singles Miguel has shared over the past few years will be included, such as “Number 9” with Lil Yachty and “Give It to Me,” both released in 2023.

Trending Stories

Caos is Miguel’s first full-length album in eight years, following 2017’s War & Leisure. He did release a pair of EPs in the intervening years — 2019’s Te Lo Dije and 2021’s Art Dealer Chic 4 and in 2023 his old song “Sure Thing” went viral on TikTok and Instagram Reels, becoming a massive hit more than 10 years after its original release.

Miguel has also made several feature appearances over the past few years, including 2022’s “Don’t Forget My Love” with Diplo, 2023’s “Jeans” with Jessie Reyez, and 2024’s “Saturnine” with Justice. This year, he teamed up with BTS’ J-Hope for “Sweet Dreams,” and collaborated with Kilo Kish on “Negotiate.”
