Foreigner Asks to Be Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Wedding Band

The iconic Eighties outfit know what love is and want to show it to the superstar pair

Who doesn’t want an invite to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding? At least one band is taking the initiative to secure an invite by straight up volunteering to work that night: Foreigner have published an open letter to the newly engaged couple asking to be their wedding band.

“Dear Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce,” the Instagram post begins, “We know what love is. We spent 40 years figuring it out…and now you guys have too. Please accept this as our formal offer to be your wedding band.”

It’s unclear if Swift and Kelce are already huge fans of Foreigner, but it seems likely that the pop star would love some of the band’s many massive, anthemic, romantic hits. However, at least one fan had the foresight years ago to mash up some of her Eighties arena rock-inspired Red tracks with some of the band’s big hits.

Just last year, Foreigner was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Sammy Hagar. Hagar was then joined by an all-star line-up to pay tribute to the band’s legacy on stage, including Demi Lovato, Kelly Clarkson, and Slash on guitar.

Swift and Kelce’s engagement was just announced last week. Kelce had popped the question a few weeks earlier, right after she recorded her appearance on his New Heights podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce, where she announced her new album, The Life of a Showgirl. Beyond a joint Instagram announcement with Kelce, Swift has not spoken much more about the engagement or their search for the right wedding band.
