Philadelphia fest, curated by Dave Hause, will also feature two sets by Hause and his band the Mermaid
Dave Hause dropped his latest album, …And the Mermaid, earlier this month, and today he unveils the lineup for his annual boutique festival, Sing Us Home. Set for May 1 through 3 in Hause’s hometown of Philadelphia, the fest features headlining sets by the Mountain Goats (led by John Darnielle, whom RS once called “the best storyteller in rock”), the Menzingers, and Hause and the band that gave his new album its name, the Mermaid.
The Augustines, the Brooklyn-based indie-rock group who split in 2016, will also perform another reunion set at Sing Us Home. “We are alive and we are coming to you Philadelphia!” the group posted on Instagram on Tuesday. “Make your plans now and join us this spring.”
A presale for the Sing Us Home festival begins Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 10 a.m./ET. The general public on-sale starts Oct. 3, also at 10 a.m. ET. More acts are expected to be announced.
Held on Venice Island in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia, the weekend fest features local food, records, and clothing — last year’s fest was punctuated with obligatory “E-A-G-L-E-S” chants, as the city continued to celebrate the Birds’ 2025 Super Bowl win.
After establishing himself as a punk-band frontman with his group the Loved Ones — who reunited at 2024’s Sing Us Home — Hause has evolved into one of Americana music’s most insightful songwriters, tackling subjects from fleeting youth to school bullying.
“There is a perceived credibility that comes with being in Americana. But for me to write an acoustic song and add fiddle and banjo is just absurd,” he told Rolling Stone back in 2017. “It would be more appropriate to put hip-hop beats under my lyrics than to put a country tinge on it. I’m not country – I’m from Philly.”
