TGI Fridays Offering Government Workers Free Food During Shutdown

If you are a TSA agent or an air traffic controller and are tangled up in the government shutdown, TGI Fridays wants to hook you up with free food for the next nine days!

Just follow these instructions to fill up your tummy for free.

According to Today, the complimentary meals will be doled out until Oct. 23, or until the government opens back up.

To claim your daily TGI Fridays free meal, just show your valid government employee identification — it’s that simple.

The only oddity is that if you want to claim your meal at an airport location, you must take it to-go.

Eligible recipients get one free meal a day, including some of the brand’s signature items.

Air traffic controllers and TSA agents can get chicken fingers with fries, a cheeseburger with fries, a crispy or grilled chicken sandwich with fries or chicken Caesar salad.

The deal will be available at more than 80 TGI Fridays locations in the U.S., including restaurants in and outside of airports.

TSA agents and air traffic control workers at airports nationwide are expected to work during the government shutdown, even though there isn’t a guarantee that they will get paid for it.

Essentially, these employees are in a tough spot. They want to keep their jobs, because once the government is back up and running, they’ll return to normal.

But since their wallets might be stretching thin, TGI Fridays has stepped up to help.

This offer also helps Fridays look more philanthropic and helps them tug on the heartstrings of Americans who need some uplifting, so it’s a win-win for all involved.
