Cole Swindell performed “Make Heaven Crowded,” a song inspired by the death of Charlie Kirk, on what would have been the late conservative commentator’s 32nd birthday.

The singer took the stage during an episode of Fox & Friends on Tuesday (Oct. 14).

Understated emotion coursed through Swindell’s performance as he sang about finding unity and healing through a nationwide return to faith.

“Happy birthday, Charlie,” Swindell said at the end of his performance.

Swindell took the stage with his full band for the performance.

The video shows him delivering a straight-ahead, smooth rendition of his emotional song, which calls for unity across political aisles in a time when the country is more contentiously divided than ever.

Swindell has said he was inspired to write the song when he heard this speech from Kirk’s widow, Erika.

In its lyrics, he imagines a world that pays more attention to God and the values taught in the Bible.

How Did Charlie Kirk Die?

Charlie Kirk was fatally shot on Sept. 10 during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University. He was 31 years old.

The suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, turned himself in following a 33-hour manhunt.

He remains in custody without bail and faces multiple charges, including capital murder. Prosecutors have stated that the death penalty is on the table if he’s convicted.

Kirk was the CEO of Turning Point USA. After his death, his wife Erika was unanimously voted in to replace him.

Multiple country stars have expressed their grief in the wake of Kirk’s death. Jason and Brittany Aldean attended his funeral.

An estimated 90,000 people attended Sunday’s (Sept. 21) memorial for political activist Charlie Kirk at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
