Jake Owen Reveals What Kenny Chesney Always Does Right

Jake Owen says says that Kenny Chesney is never too busy for the people in his life.

Even though he’s a world-class superstar, he quietly makes time for everyone. That’s what sets him apart from the pack, Owen explained during a recent sit-down with Taste of Country Nights.

“Kenny has always been that guy for me that if I text him, he instantly texts me back,” Owen reflects.

He says that some of his other friends, who “don’t even remotely dream of being on Kenny’s level,” aren’t quite so conscientious. “I text them and a week later, [they respond] ‘Sorry man, I’ve been really busy,'” he elaborates.

So of course, Owen shoots back, “Oh really? Busier than Kenny Chesney?”

Chesney will be getting inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame on Sunday (Oct. 19.) Owen, who is one of the country legend’s good friends, says Chesney has been influential not only on his career, but on his personal life.

As an example of how Chesney always treats people right, Owen called up a memory from 2007, when he was Chesney’s opening act.

“I would watch his camp and the people around him love him. When you can get the people around you to love you and fight for you and the whole aesthetic and the vibe is who you are because the people around you know who you are — Its a feeling that I’ve never had with anyone else.”

To prove how much of a fan and friend of Chesney that Owen is, we dug up this picture of Owen and his daughter, Pearl hanging out with “Uncle Kenny” back in 2020.
