Fast-emerging country artist Alexandra Kay stopped by Taste of Country Nights and spilled the beans about the quiet wealth that her labelmate, Jelly Roll, spreads among his friends, and it’s shocking.
Host Evan Paul asked Kay what it’s like touring with Jelly, which she did in 2024 on his Beautifully Broken Tour, and she understood the assignment.
What’s It Like Touring With Jelly Roll?
Kay says, “Jelly Roll got us things everyday throughout the entire tour.”
She continues, “I got a meat smoker, okay? I don’t even know how many Yeti coolers I got on that tour, but I have Yeti coolers for days.”
But that is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg here, ladies and gentlemen.
Kay keeps going, “He always sends me a new pair of Hey Dudes, whenever he has a new pair of Hey Dudes come out.”
Jelly just released a new Hey Dude boot, which I’m sure Kay got a few of.
As they say in the late-night infomercials, but wait, there’s more.
Kay said “Also, also — like, this man is crazy. I would literally be in bed, facemask on, makeup off, hair extensions off, like, I am asleep and all of a sudden, we get a call, ‘Hey, I rented out the Space Needle, come.'”
She explains how she would be sleeping for the night after the show when the Jelly Roll calls would come in.
Kay relates, “I’m in bed, and he would say, ‘C’mon, I rented out the Space Needle and we’re all gonna go to the top.'” In disbelief, Kay said back to him, “What?! You rented out the Space Needle, in Seattle?”
“We would get those calls like every night: ‘I rented out the comedy club down the street, c’mon, open bar, everybody’s getting up and doing a stand-up set. I rented out a restaurant, this and that.'”
Kay adds, “Every night there was something that he rented out” on that tour for his friends and co-workers.

Kay is 34 years old, and her birthday is Sept. 5, 1991.
She says that Jelly Roll and his whole crew threw her a birthday party in catering on the road, complete with a one-of-a-kind cake and everything.
