Bad Bunny took home Album of the Year — the night’s top prize — at the 2025 Latin Grammys. The Puerto Rican superstar used his acceptance speech to celebrate young Latinos and shout out his island, which he honored so vividly on his blockbuster LP, Debí Tirar Más Fotos.
“Once again, I want to thank God. And my mom for birthing me. Mom and Dad, I love y’all. I love my brothers,” Bad Bunny said to begin his speech. “I love music, I love what I do, I love being with passionate people and doing what I love.”
Bad Bunny continued by thanking his collaborators for “putting their heart and soul” into the record. “Love each other as much as you can,” he said.
“I dedicate this to the young people and children of Latin America, especially those from Puerto Rico,” the singer continued. “Never stop dreaming or being yourself. It doesn’t matter where you’re from, never forget where you come from nor where you’re going.”
Bad Bunny concluded: “There’s so many ways to defend where you’re from. We chose music. Los Sobrinos chose, Pleneros de la Cresta chose music… Puerto Rico, I love you, thank you.”
The Album of the Year category was stacked this year. Bad Bunny’s Debí Tirar Más Fotos faced Rauw Alejandro’s Cosa Nuestra, Gloria Estefan’s Raíces, Joaquina’s Al Romper la Burbuja, Carín León’s Palabra de To’s (Seca), Liniker’s Caju, Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso’s Papota, Vicente García’s Puñito de Yocahú, Elena Rose’s En las Nubes – Con Mis Panas, and Alejandro Sanz’s ¿Y Ahora Qué?.
Bad Bunny was previously nominated for YHLQMDLG in 2020, El Último Tour Del Mundo in 2021, and Un Verano Sin Ti in 2022.
