The superstar discussed their friendship on The Late Show
Taylor Swift discussed a variety of topics on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Wednesday, from her engagement to Travis Kelce to her upcoming Disney+ docuseries The End of an Era. She also touched on her relationship with Stevie Nicks.
When Colbert asked her who she turns to for advice, Swift said, “I try really hard not to do the whole like, ‘Oh, my god, there’s no one that can relate to what I’m going through!’ You know what I mean? Nobody wants to hear that. I don’t want to hear it. It annoys me when I start to go down that path. So I try to find through-lines in many people’s experiences. Like, I think we can relate to each other, even if our lives aren’t identical.”
“But that said,” she continued, “I’ve been very lucky. I have Stevie Nicks in my life in a way that affects me positively constantly. Being able to talk to her and have a phone call with her and hear what she’s been through, she paved the way for me and any other artist that get to do this on this level. So I feel very lucky that she’s lended her very magical, wonderful, wise approach to life to me.”
In Oct. 2024, Nicks told Rolling Stone about her bond with Swift, showing us the friendship bracelet Swift gifted her. “I haven’t taken it off for almost a year,” she said. “She is really smart, but she also went through a lot before. She’s in a good place right now, and I think she has a good man. I hope they fall deeper and deeper in love and ride off into the sunset. He does his thing and she does her thing, and then they come back together and get married and have babies if she wants that. I just want all of that for her.”
