The rap king is also set to bring out some surprise guests during the Netflix special
Snoop Doggy Dogg is ready to seal the honmoon this Christmas! On Friday, the rap king announced that the singing stars behind KPop Demon Hunters and country queen Lainey Wilson will join him at the halftime during the Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions game’s halftime show.
Netflix, which will air the game and special, shared a silly holiday-themed teaser featuring a remix of “Deck the Halls” and Snoop’s “Drop It Like It’s Hot announcing the performers. “We about to light up this Christmas,” Snoop says in the video. “Come on in!”
Snoop’s Holiday Halftime Party is set to air on Netflix during the game, followed by the matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Commanders. Netflix also hinted that more guests might appear during the performance.
“You’ll have to wait until Christmas Day to see who else joins Uncle Snoop for this jolly halftime show,” reads the release. “You’re in for a holiday treat!”
Kelly Clarkson will start the Christmas Day festivities with the NFL with a performance of “Underneath the Tree.” “NFL, Netflix and your uncle Snoop on Christmas Day? We’re servin’ up music, love and good vibes for the whole world to enjoy,” Snoop said in a statement about the halftime show. “That’s the kind of holiday magic Santa can’t fit in a bag.”
Last year, Beyoncé took the stage and brought out Post Malone and Shaboozey for an iconic performance that was dubbed the “Beyoncé Bowl,” celebrating the singer’s Cowboy Carter era.
Christmas Day will feature two NFC rivalry games: the Cowboys vs. the Commanders at 1 p.m. ET at the Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, followed by the Lions vs. Vikings at 4:30 p.m. ET.
