‘The Muppet Show’ Trailer Unites Sabrina Carpenter With Miss Piggy

Miss Piggy isn’t the type to get stage fright, but she’d also never turn down a shower of compliments. In the teaser trailer for The Muppet Show, the iconic character gets a pep talk from Sabrina Carpenter, the special guest starring alongside the Muppets in the musical event premiering Feb. 4 on Disney+ and ABC.

“You are an icon,” Carpenter tells Miss Piggy, who feigns humility in her response, “You’re too sweet — go on.” Moments later, they’re donning matching outfits. The pop star joins the Muppets as they return to the original Muppet Theatre with new music and more behind-the-scenes shenanigans.

The Muppet Show executive producer Seth Rogen makes an appearance in the brief teaser, too. “It’s always been a dream of mine to be here,” he tells Fozzie Bear, who thinks he should find some higher aspirations in life. “Got any other dreams?” the OG muppet asks.

The stakes are high for the production team putting on the special. “It’s the return of the Muppet show,” Kermit, voiced by Matt Vogel, announces in the teaser. “Back on the very stage where it all started, and then ended, and is maybe starting again depending on how tonight goes.”

Disney first announced plans for The Muppet Show in September 2025. The scheduled Feb. 4 premiere coincides with the 50th anniversary of the show, which premiered as a variety series in 1976. Dave Goelz, who voices Gonzo the Great among other characters, returns alongside Bill Barretta, Eric Jacobson, Peter Linz, and David Rudman.

The Muppet Show special follows the 2023 series The Muppets Mayhem, which featured cameos from Lil Nas X and Kesha, and 2020’s Muppets Now, which guest-starred RuPaul, Aubrey Plaza, Danny Trejo, and more. The last proper one-off special from the Muppets came in 2021 with the release of Muppets Haunted Mansion.
