NIcki Minaj to Appear at Treasury Department’s ‘Trump Accounts’ Event

Nicki Minaj will continue her dalliances with the MAGA movement, with the rapper set to appear at a Treasury Department event this week.

Minaj is one of several big names set to appear at the summit, alongside Kevin O’Leary (of Shark Tank and Marty Supreme) and Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm actress and wife of Health Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr.). Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent are also slated to speak.

The summit will be centered around the launch of “Trump Accounts,” a new kind of investment account for children established in last year’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act. These accounts will be available to people under 18, with investments growing tax-free like an individual retirement account. Account holders will be able to withdraw the money once they’re adults, but only for specific things, like education, buying a home, starting a business, or retirement.

Minaj alluded to the program in a post on X confirming her participation in the event. “The true meaning of paying it forward,” she wrote. “Early financial literacy & financial support for our children will give them a major head start in life. In some cases, they will end up teaching their very own parents ow to invest & what to invest in. This makes me very happy.”

To launch Trump accounts, the administration has promised that all babies born during Trump’s second term will get $1,000 from the government, via a tax credit, as seed money. (Enrollment in the Trump accounts is not automatic, and new parents will have to sign their children up.) At the end of last year, Michael and Susan Dell also announced a donation of $6.25 billion, which will be distributed in $250 increments to children under 10. (The Dells have said eligibility will be based on zip code, focusing on children living in areas where the median household income is less than $150,000.)

Trending Stories

The Trump administration appears eager to lean into the whole Trump Accounts thing — versions of which have had real bipartisan support over the years — as evidenced by the star-studded launch event and their reported plans to air a commercial boosting them during the Super Bowl. All this, of course, amidst a worsening affordability crisis, a brutal immigration crackdown, and another ICE shooting of a U.S. citizen in Minneapolis

For Minaj, the appearance at the Treasury Department summit comes as she continues her right-wing turn and throws her support behind Trump and the MAGA movement. Just over a month ago, she made a surprise appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest alongside Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika.
