‘Behold the Leader of the ‘Board of Peace”

Soon after the U.S. launched Operation Epic Fury against Iran, Jack White turned to social media to criticize Donald Trump’s war declaration and the president’s hypocritical stance on peace.

“Don’t you love seeing him declare war on a country while wearing a trucker hat that says ‘USA’ on it?” White wrote Saturday on social media alongside an image from Trump’s video statement announcing the joint military campaign against Iran.

“Behold the leader of the ‘Board of Peace,’” White added. “For the next war announcement donny, may I suggest having your feet up on the Resolute desk while eating a Big Mac in a velvet track suit?”

White also pointed out that, despite Trump’s desperate attempts to procure a Nobel Peace Prize, the president often acts aggressively with other countries. “Venezuela, Greenland, Iran, Cuba, what’s the difference right?” White wrote.

“Don jr. and barron won’t have to fight or die, just other people’s children, so…invade and bomb away! New sign ups for the ‘board of peace’ starting at one billion dollars! Can you believe donny hasn’t received a real Nobel Peace Prize yet? Unfair! Maybe in his third term he’ll get one.”

The rocker was among the first artists to comment publicly on Operation Epic Fury in the hours after Trump announced the military campaign against the “very wicked, radical dictatorship” in Iran.

“The Iranian regime seeks to kill,” Trump said Saturday. “The lives of courageous American heroes may be lost and we may have casualties. That often happens in war, but we’re doing this not for now. We’re doing this for the future, and it is a noble mission.”

White frequently denounces Trump on social media, most recently criticizing the president for his racist social media post aimed at the Obamas. Last month, White mocked Trump after the president held a lengthy White House press briefing Tuesday touting his administration’s first-year achievements. In December, the musician blasted the president for his inhumane response to the death of Rob Reiner.
