How a Bottle of Wine Led to Thomas Rhett’s Son’s Name

Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren Akins, just recently welcomed their fifth child and first boy, Brave Elijah Akins.

Being as Brave isn’t a common name, Rhett explained how they landed on it when he was a guest on Country Countdown USA recently.

Rhett said that he and his wife were sitting down to enjoy a glass of wine, and when he picked up the bottle to see which kind it was, he was instantly inspired.

“The name of the wine was Mount Brave. So I asked Lauren about the name Brave for a boy. We loved what that word meant for a boy or girl,” he revealed.

After it was settled and their son or daughter’s first name was going to be Brave, the couple had a hard time picking a middle name.

The singer revealed, “We were in the hospital, they gave us the birth certificate, and we still didn’t have a middle name. I was reading Elijah’s story in the Bible, and he led an incredible life. So we settled on Brave Elijah.”
