Shaboozey Bought New Home After Emotional Moment with His Dad

Get ready to cry a river the size of the Cumberland after hearing the story Shaboozey told about his new home purchase in Nashville recently.

Shaboozey was a guest on Country Countdown USA where he detailed the emotional home buying experience.

“We were looking to buy a house in Nashville, and I brought my dad with me. I brought him to this place, 27 acres, and I saw him sit on the porch. He was just sitting there quiet,” the singer recounted. “He’s usually a restless guy. He always wants to be in charge.”

Just seeing his pops relaxing on the front porch while he was looking over the land was enough for Shaboozey to want to put a down payment on the home right away.

“He’s peacefully looking at the land, it’s right on the Cumberland River and I could see my dad watching his grandchildren play,” he continued. “And I said, ‘This is the house we’re buying.'”

Shaboozey’s Quick Rise to the Top

Shaboozey shot straight to the top with his hit “A Bar Song,” which was a No. 1 single on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart for 19 weeks.

That run at the top tied the record for the longest-running No. 1 in Billboard Hot 100 history with 19 weeks.

Not to mention it also set a new record as the longest-leading No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, which it dominated for the better part of a year: 35 weeks. That was enough to break the record for most weeks at No. 1 on the Radio Songs chart.

Shaboozey currently has a top-tier hit again with Jelly Roll. Their song “Amen” recently won a Grammy and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart on March 26.

Speaking of Jelly, he was also in the interview at the time with Shaboozey. When he heard the story about him buying his new home, he said, “Oh man, that makes me wanna cry. That deserves an Amen.”
