Karol G Announces Tour, Brings Out J Balvin, Ryan Castro, Peso Pluma

Karol G closed out her historic Coachella set with a bang. The Colombian superstar used her moment as the first Latina to headline the festival to announce her next big move: a highly-anticipated tour in support of her fourth studio album, Tropicoqueta.

During Karol’s blow-out final number “Provenza,” the giant screens behind her flashed a message in orange: “Nos Vamos de Tour,” which translates to, “We’re going on tour.” The Colombian star directed everyone to look at the screens as she screamed the same message into the microphone.

During her interview on Call Her Daddy, Karol hinted that a tour has been in the works, but was halted to plan her Coachella set. “We were talking about starting the tour, but then I was like let’s stop everything and let’s just focus about this,” she told Alex Cooper. Since Karol released Tropicoqueta in June 2025, fans have been clamoring for a tour announcement, especially after the star’s record-breaking Mañana Será Bonito tour from 2023 to 2024.

In addition to her major news, Karol G also brought her hometown of Medellín, Colombia to Indio with two very special guests: J Balvin and Ryan Castro. The stars’ appearance served to honor Colombian reggaeton’s beginnings and the genre’s future in the country. It also marked a full-circle moment for Balvin, who joined Karol onstage for her first Coachella performance back in 2022.

Balvin took the stage first to perform through his hits “Ay Vamos,” “Ginza,” and “La Canción” until Castro joined and the pair cycled through a medley of collaborations and Castro’s hits. It was perfect timing; Balvin and Castro are set to release their joint album, Omerta, in the coming weeks on May 8.

“For me, it was about who are the ones that to perform their song in the show is going to be a very special moment for my fans,” Karol told Alex Cooper. “I want to bring someone that has made like an statement for life, you know, a legacy, a pioneer of of what we do and why we’re here,” she added.

Earlier in the night, the Mexican pride was apparent when Peso Pluma joined the Colombian singer onstage to sing their 2023 hit “Qlona,” and Becky G returned to perform “Mamii” alongside Karol once more. Last week, for weekend one, the Colombian superstar’s special guests included reggaetón pioneer Wisin, Puerto Rican singer Mariah Angeliq, Becky G, and Cigarettes After Sex singer-guitarist Greg Gonzales, who she performed new song “Después de Ti.”

“I really prepared myself that time to create a show that meant so much to people and was about honoring my Latina community,” Karol told Rolling Stone shortly after she was announced as a Coachella headliner. “I wanted to be the representation for the community on that stage and with my show,” she added. With her final, hora loca performance, the star did just that.
