Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley may live an ocean apart, but the actress says the miles haven’t been much of a challenge.
The couple, who confirmed their romance earlier this year after reconnecting following Billy Ray’s divorce from Firerose, splits their time between Hurley’s home in the English countryside and Cyrus’ longtime home in Tennessee.
“We’re very happy together,” Hurley told E! News. “We’re really enjoying trying to get this balance between America and the UK.”
Hurley said the distance works because, despite living on opposite sides of the Atlantic, they enjoy the same kind of quiet, country life.
Happiest in the Country
“But the good thing is that he’s very country where he is in Tennessee,” Hurley said. “I’m very country where I am.”
She said that’s one of the biggest reasons their relationship works. Neither of them has much interest in busy social events or constantly being on the go.
It’s a really important thing in our relationship that neither of us wants to be out and about. I love gardening. He loves being outside in nature. We both love watching birds of prey. It’s a really lovely life.
Bonding Over Classic TV
Their love of a slower pace even carries over to what they watch together.
Hurley said the couple recently watched Little House on the Prairie and started talking about whether they could happily live that kind of simple life.

“We can do that!” she said. “We could have pined in the prairies. We’d be very good.”
Love Story Origin
Billy Ray and Hurley first met while filming Christmas in Paradise in 2022, but they didn’t begin dating until reconnecting after his marriage to Firerose ended in 2024.
The couple made their relationship Instagram official on Easter Sunday 2025, sharing a photo of Billy Ray kissing Hurley on the cheek.
Since then, they’ve continued to build a relationship rooted in the simple things they both love, balancing their time between Tennessee and the English countryside.
