Larry the Cable Guy is on the mend after a bout of appendicitis sent him to the hospital last week.
The 63-year-old comedian and TV personality — whose legal name is Daniel Lawrence Whitney — was hospitalized in Lincoln, Neb., last Thursday (July 23). TMZ was the first to report the news.
He was diagnosed with appendicitis and underwent surgery to treat the condition before being released from the hospital on Saturday (July 25.) He’s since been recovering at home.
Larry the Cable Guy Updates Fans After Appendicitis Scare
In a Facebook post, Larry the Cable Guy addressed his health scare with his trademark sense of humor. He reassured fans that he’s “all good.”
“I had major stomach pain and turns out I had appendicitis,” he wrote. “It was removed, and after [two] days in the hospital I’m home and recovering.”
“Pretty sore but vitals good, my butt looks fantastic and now just taking stool softeners, which is giving me an urge to go to my mom’s assisted living facility and play bingo with the gals,” Larry joked.

He cracked another joke about all the media attention his health scare has gotten, and took the opportunity to promote an upcoming project.
“I don’t know who ratted me out down there but this is the most press I’ve received since we announced [Cars: Lightning Racerrs] on Disney Jr. coming in September,” Larry said.
Will Larry the Cable Guy’s Appendicitis Affect His Live Shows Or Filming Schedule?
No live performances are expected to be affected by Larry’s recovery.
However, TMZ did report that he had to postpone tapings for his CBS series American Mayhem due to his health scare.
