Adéla Talks Upcoming Debut, Worshipping Beyoncé for Song Shuffle

The rising pop star goes deep on seeing Queen Bey in 2013 — and a few other superstars in her playlist — in the latest episode of Song Shuffle

Adéla caught up with Rolling Stone for an episode of Song Shuffle at Lollapalooza 2026.

First up: Beyoncé’s “Don’t Hurt Yourself,” from her 2016 classic Lemonade. “I am really unhealthily obsessed with her, and I’ve always been,” she says of the track, which features Jack White. “She was the person that has inspired me to do what I do. I remember listening to Lemonade for the first time and hearing this song. The unfiltered rage, she literally is screaming. I love it so much. And Jack White is a fucking legend. It’s the craziest combo ever.”

She also recalled seeing The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour in April 2013 in her hometown of Bratislava, Slovakia. “She came to Slovakia, which not a lot of artists do,” she says. “I fell asleep because I was so young, it was my bedtime. But I remember that ‘Love on Top’ came on at the end of the show, and I resurrected. And then I fell back asleep. Core memory.”

Next in her shuffle was Nelly Furtado’s 2006 hit “Say it Right,” which Adéla called “Maybe one of the best pop songs there is. It’s so weirdly intimate, but also you still want to dance to it. It’s a danceable ballad. It’s so swaggy. Every time I listen to it, it feels fresh. And I’ve listened to it my entire life. In my car, listening to my songs driving through Laurel Canyon in L.A. I’m not the best driver, admittedly.”

Elsewhere in her shuffle: Britney Spears and Madonna’s “Me Against the Music,” ASAP Rocky’s “L$D,” and more. She also discussed her upcoming debut album Prima, out Sept. 4. “I want to be the prima of pop one day,” she says. “This is the first step to do it.”
