Alanis Morissette Is Dropping a Holiday Album

Good Weather for Immaculate Conception features two original Christmas songs, plus collaborations with Brandi Carlile, Steve Martin, and more

Alanis Morissette is already feeling the holiday cheer. The alt-rock star has announced her first-ever holiday album, Good Weather for Immaculate Conception, arriving on Nov. 6. Two original holiday songs – “Christmas on the Dance Floor” and “To an Empath at Christmas Time” – will appear on the album, plus many collaborations, including a cover of “Beautiful Star of Bethlehem” supported by Brandi Carlile and Steve Martin, which is out today.

Good Weather for Immaculate Conception follows years of Morissette releasing holiday covers and will feature 14 tracks, some of which include those previously released songs. Most of the track list is padded out with Christmas standards, including “O Holy Night,” “Ave Maria,” and “Little Drummer Boy,” but also features covers of modern classics like Joni Mitchell’s “River” and Wham!’s “Last Christmas.”

Morissette also collaborated with several artists for the collection. Besides Carlile and Martin, comedian/actor Martin Short is also featured on a song, as well as artists Joy Oladokun, Amythyst Kiah, and the first UK professional trans choir Trans Voices.

In other news, Morissette appeared alongside Olivia Rodrigo at her inaugural Daisy Chain Fields music festival in August, where they covered “Ironic.” She also sang the Canadian national anthem at the 2026 World Cup opening ceremony. Most notably, she was inagurated into the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame.

Morissette released her 10th album, the ambient music inspired The Storm Before the Calm, in 2022. Starting on Nov. 5, she’ll play a handful of her Butterfly With a Machete stage shows at Los Angeles’ YouTube Theater.
