Legendary R&B vocalist and New Edition standout Johnny Gill has officially claimed the top spot on the charts once again. His latest sultry single, “A Dance, A Kiss,” has reached No. 1 on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart, marking the veteran singer’s second chart-topping hit of the year. The track is available now globally across all digital streaming platforms via his own J Skillz Entertainment imprint.
Produced by hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg alongside Priest “Soopafly” Brooks, the record delivers an undeniably smooth groove designed to capture the magnetic, rhythmic pull between two people. The track was co-penned by Gill, Brooks, Justin Randall Keitt, and Snoop Dogg (Calvin Broadus Jr.), instantly adding another certified hit to Gill’s expansive solo catalog.
To complement the single’s sophisticated sound, Gill enlisted visionary director Chris Robinson—renowned for his iconic visual work with Jay-Z, Usher, and Alicia Keys—to helm the official music video, which is out now.
Gill revealed that his recent time on the road directly fueled his creative drive to return to the recording booth.
