Megan Thee Stallion Granted Restraining Order Against Tory Lanez

Last month, Megan Thee Stallion filed a petition for a restraining order against Tory Lanez—who is currently serving a prison sentence for shooting the Houston rapper multiple times in 2020—in Los Angeles’ Superior Court. At a court hearing today, Judge Richard Bloom officially granted the request, according to Meghan Cuniff and Rolling Stone’s Nancy Dillon. The restraining order will be in effect for five years, Cuniff reports.

Megan Thee Stallion reportedly testified today via video. “I want my restraining order because I haven’t been at peace since I [was] shot,” she said, according to Dillon. “I’m just a nervous wreck all the time.”

In her petition, Megan Thee Stallion said that Lanez had been using third parties to harass her from prison. She also claimed that he had been working with bloggers to make false claims about the case and attack her credibility. At time of filing, the original protective order issued by the court to prevent further harassment had expired.
