As you can see, it was a big year for some or rock’s biggest veteran hitmakers. Rock legends such as Green Day, Pearl Jam and Smashing Pumpkins all found themselves reconnecting with the vibrancy that once populated their early records and saw lots of praise from fans and critics alike.

This year also saw The Black Crowes, The Cure and Linkin Park resuming their recording careers after long layoffs, while Falling in Reverse and Bring Me the Horizon continued to move the needle for the next generation.
