These New Puritans Announce Album, Enlist Caroline Polachek for New Song: Watch the Video

These New Puritans have announced a new album. The English experimental rock outfit released its last record, Inside the Rose, in 2019, and, now, twin brothers Jack and George Barnett are back with two new songs: “Bells” and “Industrial Love Song,” the latter of which features Caroline Polachek. Both tracks will appear on new album Crooked Wing, which is out May 23 via Domino. Watch the Harley Weir–directed music video for “Industrial Love Song” below; scroll down to hear “Bells.”

“‘Industrial Love Song’ is a duet between two cranes on a building site,” Jack Barnett said in a press statement. “Caroline sings the part of one crane, I sing the other; they can’t touch (their movements are controlled by the operator), but when the sun rises they hope that their shadows will cross. I like how the title George came up with misdirects expectations—it’s not that kind of industrial.”

Jack Barnett produced Crooked Wing with Graham Sutton, who worked on the band’s second and third albums, Hidden and Field of Reeds. George Barnett served as the new album’s executive producer.
