Indigo De Souza Launches Fundraiser to Recover From Hurricane Helene Damage

Asheville, North Carolina, singer-songwriter Indigo De Souza was recently forced to cancel multiple events after her home was severely damaged by Hurricane Helene. After posting updates, and seeking aid for others in her community, De Souza, has launched a fundraiser to help rebuild her home and resume her recording career. “I am raising this money to replace the world of things I’ve lost,” she wrote on GoFundMe. “And most importantly, the equipment I am so used to leaning on for making music — things that keep me alive, and allow me to work from home. I am starting from ground zero.”

De Souza was among the many artists to contribute to Cardinals at the Window, a compilation to benefit hurricane victims in western North Carolina. Funds from the album have gone to Rural Organizing and Resilience, BeLoved Asheville, and the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina.
