REVIEW: Bury Tomorrow – Will You Haunt Me, With That Same Patience

Bury Tomorrow release their latest banger of an album Will You Still Haunt Me, With That Same Patience, today (May 16)!

The album is bleak in terms of its outlook on life, in the lyrics, but delivered so perfectly.

To Dream, To Forget opens the album with some absolute brilliance. The ‘I guess I’ll go it alone’ line before the breakdown towards the end is absolute sick.

The guttural screams throughout Villain Arc are perfect, they really capture the angst in the lyrics, particularly with mentions of the title and the lines ‘You think you’ve had the worst? Now I’ve got the crown. There’ll be more than blood on the ground’. The way it mixes between vocal deliveries over the intense drums, it’s no wonder that this was a single – it’s a bloody good choice.

Wasteland’s got an absolutely fire hip-hop style opening vocal delivery over the base of a beat before kicking into some brutal bass and relentless drums.

There’s elements of Black Flame in the album too with the soaring vocals and catchy hooks on the likes of What I Burn and Silence Isn’t Helping Us.

I really relate to the hook in Waiting: “Let me feel something. Let me know I’ve been more than just a sin”, it’s a great couple of lines that I’m sure will also relate to many people.

Things slow down with the opening to Found No Throne’s minimalistic guitars and the vulnerable, emotional vocal delivery. It’s absolutely beautiful and an emotional call with the lyrics ‘Rise Up’, and heartbreaking with ‘it’s like I’ve never seen the sky before and I wanna know what it’s like to fall, so I climb up to the ledge once more, two deep breaths and then I’ll fly I’m sure.’

The track is a complete 180 compared to the rest of the album but I absolutely love it.

Let Go has a bit of an 80s synth vibe going towards the start and is a funky track.

Bury Tomorrow have always been sonically brilliant, but this latest release really pushes the boat out.

It’s absolutely brutal with some banging metalcore choruses. They’ve really pushed the boat out with breakdowns throughout and the relentless drums are fantastic.

The soul-wrenching Found No Throne is an absolute curveball but it just further shows the songwriting and delivery prowess.
